The Raynor Rave, and other adventures in higher ed social media

Marquette University has embraced social media for communication with prospective students, current students and alumni. One of the university’s guiding principles is to be an active member of its community, whether that means personally responding to application questions on its Facebook Class of 2014 group or posting a video of library rave on the university YouTube channel. As of early January, Marquette has nearly 13,000 fans and followers between Facebook and Twitter, over 165 videos on the Marquette YouTube channel and more than 1,200 photos on the Marquette Flickr page.
